Everyone in the greater Seattle area who knows me refers to me and or my business as Braids by Michelle. And while I am still Michelle and yes I still do braids; the next chapter in my life has a bigger goal and a larger purpose. Along my journey a few young ladies and even some young men have taken interest in the hair industry based on my influence and encouragement. And now my focus is to open a shop and pass this legacy down to my protégés. My mother was a stylist, and my father was a barber. As a stylist myself my focus has always been natural hair. As I was handed down a legacy from generations before me, I continue to pass the torch to generations after me. So naturally; the next generation of stylists and I are the Natural Legacy.
Why Natural Legacies?
Starting in June I am taking on a new name and a new focus. The name Natural Legacies means a lot to me. After a whole year and a half of thinking of a name that would really say who I am and express how I am received professionally, this particular name came to me while chatting with my daughter who is also a stylist. My mother was a stylist, and my father was a barber. As a stylist myself I have always focused on Natural hair and natural remedies. My daughter and 3 nieces who also fashion hair are my legacy. But most important the styles which I have created over the past 15+ years have helped several men and women create their own legacies by having their own individual natural style. So Natural Legacies seems only Natural. LOL. I will be opening a salon in the near future. If you want to help you can refer new clients or drop a generous tip on your next visit. All proceeds of course will go towards building the new shop. Thank you all for your love and support. I appreciate every woman or man who has blessed my chair.
